Feels very overrated. Fails on basic identification unless show it a fully flowered colourful, perfect specimen, Anything less it fails. Tested in garden, failed to identify Mint, Rosemary, Lavender, Camelia, two breeds of Rose or in fact ANY plant that lacked fully formed, perfect flowers in bloom. And won't say "I can't do it". On failure it just goes into an endless crashed loop of 'Scanning' forcing you to cancel, leaving no record of failed tests.

3 stars because you have to pay eventually. Super cool app, occasionally gets plants wrong but it seems to be mostly right. Since it gets plants wrong I don't think it's right to charge people, or at least don't charge as much as you are per year. Maybe $10 per year.

UPDATE: This app is sooo useful! I still have a premium membership and couldn't do what I do without it! Apparently there is a free version, but I would go with the paid membership! Worth every penny! It's only a 7-day free trial and then $19.99/year. I never pay for apps and was temporarily frustrated that I had to enter in my credit card info, but this app is worth the money! What would take me hours of research can be completed in an instant!

I love the app. Very user friendly, accurate and super informative. I like that not only can I catalog my own plants for the pictures & id, but I am able to prevent, diagnose & treat disease, plant together those that thrive together and avoid those that may cause potential issues. As well as plants, I can id birds and insects as well. Absolutely genius! Ty!

It's free. There's always an x when a popup comes up asking you to try out premium. I never did the free trial because I'm not paying anything. Just click x and don't pay. The identification is spot on most of the time and I've identified every "weed" in my yard. (Mostly mulberry tree sprouts that my landlord thinks are weeds, lol.) The ads can be intrusive but just know there is always an x button and don't click pay if you don't want to. :)

Immediately after getting the 7-day trial, I took a picture of my Alocasia Lauterbachiana and it didn't recognize it. It's not even in their database after typing the name. I needed an app specifically for this plant. Disappointed that the main feature doesn't work accurately. I can't imagine how it can diagnose Plants if it can't recognize. Also, no other subscription worthy feature from other apps out there. I can group by Space, but no configuration options to see if placement is adequate.
