Was great for over a decade, until the latest update. Now after using Google to search it opens my selected site in Chrome. I use the Google Collections tabs to organize things I want to save and can no longer add anything to Collections. If I wanted to open in Chrome I would have searched in Chrome. It is frustrating, I enjoyed Google Collections.

Installed the latest update on 6/14. I turned my phone off and when I turned it back on, the Assistant NO LONGER WORKS and doesn't respond to the Hey Google command. Also, it had set itself in the TalkBack mode. I had never used that mode before, and had a heck of a time getting out of that mode. Why release something that screws up your phone? Edit: I did get my phone back to my original settings after a trip to my providers store. Everything is working as it should.

I'm finding that the voice activated call command for phone calls is quite non-responsive compared to days gone by. If I tap the microphone at the top of the screen it works much better but the whole idea of voice activated is so that I don't have to take my eyes off the road for such tasks. That being said, that microphone icon is very tiny. I wish you still had a regular app button for the microphone like you once did because it is much easier to hit while driving.

Lots of apps and Google closing unexpectedly. Also get app closing notices on apps I'm not even using at the time. On Youtube the auto-translate feature that was added to creator and viewer comments is no longer available (feature tab says its provided by Google Translate). When using Facebook if you click on a URL to open an outside website you can't close the website to return to Facebook app. Instead the Google Assistant screen crashes my phone. I have to close all apps and start over.

Yes, I've been experiencing the same issues as others. It often freezes when I open it and requires me to constantly close and re-open it. - The biggest issue for me is when I open it and I tap the search bar. When I begin to type it bugs and requires me to tap the search bar again to continue typing. - —It's very bothersome and I've just now resorted to DuckDuckGo (another browser). - Conclusion; there are a few bugs with opening the app, and using the searchbar but other than that it's fine.

An irritating recent bug... If I voice search, and then use the app switcher to go back to my results, instead of displaying the results list, it starts listening for voice input for a new search. My previous search is lost, and not even shown under recent searches if I go back to the search bar. Very frustrating!

I'm unable to recover my Google account due to 2-Step Verification. I have access to my registered phone number and remember my old password. However, after entering the SMS code, Google asks for another code sent to my Gmail, which I can't access since I'm not logged in anywhere. Please improve the recovery process for such situations. ☹️

Trash. Google has now forced fox "news" and newsmax into Android Auto via Google News, which I do not even have downloaded nor can I delete. I do not want it and cannot get rid off it. Google is straight trash now. Zero stars.
