Reviews for City of Love: Paris
The artwork is AMAZING. It's incredibly flowy and beautiful. The overall game is great too! The emotions are vivid and correspondent with the dialogue. Edit: For everyone complaining about the energy system, it's actually very beneficial. See, this game takes longer to update because of the artwork and animation. That makes it short. If the energy system wasn't set up like that, you would get bored of the game because you finished too fast.
Not a game I'd usually play, but holy smokes the art is beautiful! Not really digging the story. All of the characters are super unlikable. All of the characters are straight up jerks... not very fun to play. Plus I feel like my decisions dont really impact anything. Though, again, I want to praise the game for how pretty the art is.
This is a really good game but the enegry runs out too fast, gotta wait a whole day for it to refill but the biggest pain in the butt is that it's like this game freezes. When it loads it says contacting server but it never seems to finish once it gets to 8/10. graphics are nice, seems like a cool story line. We need more energy!! Pretty disappointed
Story is interesting. But you run out of energy way too fast. Every decision costs 20 energy- that includes "decisions" where there's only one option available. Its really annoying and makes me not want to come back I can't even really get into the story enough to WANT to buy energy because there isn't enough information each day to actually get me hooked. Either give more energy every day or (preferably) don't have "decisions" that only give you one option cost so much energy.
The story, art and design are great. The price for choices is too high. Stops you right in the middle of a chapter and the refresh rate it too slow, plus the bonus "energy" doesn't always work. If you've got money to blow or enjoy really really really slow refreshes, you might enjoy this game...
Fun at first but got into a feeling where playing it felt like a chore. From my options the story seemed to not match what I picked, as if it rarely mattered what I pick the story seemed to go off on a random path. Just seems unbelievable and the option titles can be super different from what it said.
While the artwork is gorgeous and the characters are pretty good, that's about all the game has going for it. You have little control over your own character and are never given the option to dodge terrible ideas or decisions. Every option is either obviously going to make a character happy or annoyed and there is never an in-between. Not to mention the fact that your character is just really a terrible person anyway. And dont get me started on the energy system. Honestly...just skip this one.
The art is the only thing that carries itself in this game. The scenes, characters, and animation are gorgeous. But everything else was boring. The characters are boring. The plot is boring. The player character is difficult to relate to. Plus, whenever I did start to feel invested, I would be out of energy and have to wait 24 hours to play again, and by then, I didnt care anymore. Very disappointing.
I give it two stars for the "energy" system. It's literally there to bleed money from people. I legit just downloaded the game and I'm "out of energy" 5-10 mins later. that's not enough time to decide if you like the game yet! With such a blatant and in your face cash grab I'll be uninstalling. It's honestly a shame because I think the story has potential.
