This app offers a unique way of learning. I really enjoy this app. I've met new people who have become close friends &we are miles away from one another. it feels good to help someone really accomplish a big goal of learning a language in return I'm learning a language as well. the audio and video chat makes the process easier and more personal, its like having a private tutor. the app is very easy to use many languages are available. the app makes the cost of learning a new language affordable

Honestly this is my go-to app for practicing language. The interface is clean and reliable. There are some glitches in the chat feature from time to time but it's been getting better. I've had some really good conversations and overall experiences with natives through Tandem. While it may take a while to find a consistent language partner, they do exist!

Great app, community is as wide as the number of languages you list, but it's fine. Most people are open to conversation and friendly. This is not Tinder, guys, please. Simple enough, anyone could use it. I find some of the paid features unnecessary. You only see people from other countries unless you pay too. App had a crash problem, severely annoying. Almost deleted it. But I updated and it was all good. I hope it never happens again. Overall an excelent app, lots of idioms and people.

I just downloaded this app to try it out and am already very excited. I would agree with previous reviews that there should be an option to favorite conversations so that you don't lose track of the ones you're in the middle of when new messages come in. I got about 70 messages within 20 minutes of downloading, which was a bit overwhelming. But once I sifted through some I started to find the people I wanted to continue talking to.

The app is great in theory, but is unusable in practice. Notifications won't get delivered, so I never know if someone has sent me a message. Messages appear read even though I didn't read them, and behavior is generally erratic. Unusable until these bugs are fixed, and it's a pity. I bought a one year subscription but canceled it when I realized the app doesn't work properly.
