Hangouts

Hangouts Messenger is built-in on many android devices. In terms of functionality, it differs little from other applications: you can send a voice or text message, make a video call. You only need to have a Gmail account to use the app.

Hangouts functions are similar to those of similar software:

• sending (receiving) text, voice and multimedia messages;
• creation of video conferencing and private chats (up to 10 and 150 people, respectively);
• organizing communities of interest;
• storing data on Google servers (for recoverability).

Although Hangouts is a "light" messenger (weighs only a couple of MB), some users report low performance and regular freezes.

Google has no plans to end support for the application, but its scope will be closer to the corporate sector. For ordinary users, the company has released the Google Allo messenger.

Hangouts is a system app on most android devices, so removal is only possible on rooted devices.
