Anyone whining about ads... Pay the $3 or STFU. Really hard to get used to the odd way it scrolls upwards compared to original DJ. It's a lot harder, black holes and spike traps far more dangerous. I have enjoyed playing in blocks of time, getting hauls of jewels and it doesn't take long to unlock the higher stages. I wish more attention was paid to the original DJ tho, seems to be forgotten about. Some new maps and a change in scenery above 100k on all of them would be awesome...
Should be called "Ad Jump". I feel like the game punishes you with ads, and it drove me away within a day of attempting to play it. It could be fun, but not worth sitting through a barrage of ads every 30 seconds.
Fun recreation of the first doodle jump game. Unlocking the next level is more of a reward for collecting the stars. The ads are a little annoying but nothing too crazy. Overall, pretty great game.
The best game of the era. It's better than the previous version. It gives immense pleasure while playing. Totally satisfied but the game is little bit hard to play. Please give options of changing controls. Please introduce more types of controls.😊
Meh. This game does have a lot of potential. But save your money as far as ad free goes, just play the original. Playing with ads in this version is ridiculous and constant. There's no real goal in this game like the original. Essentially after you gain enough stars to burn through the levels, that's it-After that, you're just going for high score. Before, at least there were challenges and different skins you could work towards. There's no menu, no challenges, no skins, and only 8 levels.
Played the original as a kid and was curious to see where the game got to nowadays. Was disappointed to see the contents are sub par to today's standards and the thing is frustrating to play for pushing an ad with every death. There's a grinding system to unlock levels by collecting stars which becomes completely obsolete after unlocking them. It also takes a lot of time to. The game is not fun enough for me to even grind for the last level. This game proves there are worse fates than death.
The older generation in the games placing was considerably better due to after 2500 score in this version, it just goes to moving platforms and nothing else. Also lost all my progress on the second last one and all the levels previously because of a glitch
They managed to take a very entertaining game, make it a lot worse and then release it as a sequel. The mechanics are shot, the gyro is somehow worse; and they failed spectacularly trying to implement a progression or story element while not providing the satisfaction of progressing through a difficulty curve with satisfying game elements. The original is clearly the true doodle jump.
Severely altered physics, lowered sensitivity and a shift to a more 'bouncy' animation style compared to the stiff scrawlings of a DOODLE. The first one is still a great nostalgia trip. Don't waste your time on this one, there are only 8 levels with nothing novel, nothing you can't experience from the Ad-Optional first. Speaking of ads, they're omnipresent. I implore Lima Sky to look at what made the first so memorable, and until sweeping changes are made, I recommend you don't try it. 1/10

The camera lerp ruins the game. The old doodle jump had a perceived "snappieness". The camera mines up instantly as you jump off of a platform. This version has camera lerp, meaning the accelerates towards you, instead of being fixed to your position. It makes the game feel less like it's directly controlled by you, it's like watching a video of someone else playing. The ads in this game are also extremely annoying.
