Reviews for Dogo — Puppy and Dog Training
I like that it reminds me to do training games with my dog, but it has some quirks. For example, of I am at the end of one training exercise and open another, the new one opens at the end of the exercise instead of the beginning. I like the training techniques though and that I can track which ones to revisit later. Some techniques are different from the way I do things, but I just adjust my style for those. They are small differences.
Its a fun app, but it could be better to be more effective - the clicking needs to be louder and more realistic. I have to add an external bridge, making the app clicker useless. Cost - $110/yr is too expensive for an impersonal app. Trainer feedback is already given in the free version, and that's the only personal aspect. Suggestions/improvements - allow users to record without having to hold down the button. Improve social aspect of the app. I can invite friends, but not share their journey.
I'm having a lot of fun teaching Mozart new tricks in a very easy and convenient way. What I'm really enjoying is the social aspect of this app. Posting photos of your pup could win you prizes like a coupon for free toys and snacks. It's such a interesting way of interacting with your furry friend. It's kinda like an Instagram for dogs... Just a lot better. I think what would be really cool, is if we added checkmarks or something for mastered commands. We could use the social aspect of the app to post a photo of the dog who completed a trick. Maybe add a leaderboard system of some sort. Maybe that's a bit too competitive lol
A simple but effective and delightfully free app. It's sorta like an easy access database of how-tos for teaching your dog different tricks. It offers a logical order to train your dog if you dont know where to start. Each trick has step by step directions with a cute picture for each step. Even though my dog is older I'm excited to try some advanced tricks, and this gives me the confidence to try! The clicker is just as effective as a physical one too!
So far this has been a great training tool and looking forward to see how the pup progresses. I do have a feature request though. For each of the exercises, it would be great to have a 'forum' section where people could mention unique difficulties they're having for each exercise and other users could suggest corrections. Like a Q&A
This is interesting. I appreciate having an app. There's a lot to digest in the help section for how to train (tips on using words, treats, etc) and there are also the actual training activities which really just have a step by step explanation. You then do it yourself with the built in clicker. It's still a lot to digest and tricky to remember when to reward and how to do things. It would be neat with videos too but the illustrations are fun and pretty easy to understand. I appreciate the help because not everyone has time or money to go to a trainer. The only thing that's going to be really hard is consistency between our 4 family members in training our dog. But we're working on it. Thank you!
Very good app. I love it. Seems to allow access to it for quite a while before u have to purchase, if ever. But so far so good. I dont recall the ads so must not be that bad. Has clicker sound and i appreciate that. Its a smart app, adjusts to my input. Very user friendly and easy to customize to your doggy woof woof. Love it.
It seems like a really good app so far however, when I'm trying to train I can't be looking at my phone looking for the clicker button, I need to be able to watch my dog and click the moment he does the correct behavior. The clicker button is too small, it needs to be the entire lower half of the screen. I'm constantly having to look back down at my phone because I missed the click button and it can be quite irritating. it's never good to train when you're in a bad mood.
The instructions are super easy, step by step, and they have everything from just starting out to advanced. I dont use the clicker with my dog. I give her loves and a treat when she does what we are working on and she responds to that perfectly. Each dog is different. Try to figure out what they respond to the best and use that. Some dogs dont respond to the clicker, my dog is one of them. Great app though. Super helpful and fun to use.
Paid subscription. I Get feedback in less then 24hrs on my training. Amazing results! ** Updated down to 4 stars. There were training videos and I thought that it would continue that way. I was wrong. There are only a handful of training videos. Still a productive app but would be better with videos on all training.
