Reviews for Sound Meter

Trying to find a noise meter that worked every time, worked consistently & quickly was difficult, but here it is. Several of these utilities are good. The bad ones outnumber the good. Then there's the group this app is in. Well, not sure if you can call it a 'group' since this one is sitting alone on top of the gold medal platform where the apps that out-perform all others are and ain't no one else very close! THANK YOU!

A while back, I slammed this app because it repeatedly failed to open. It turned out that the app was NOT at fault. Subsequently, it has run perfectly and I Iove it. I use it in my production studio to check speaker volume levels in post as well as to monitor ambient sound levels on location shoots.

Great app, precise enough to hear the difference between my refrigerator running and not - from 20 feet away. I'll be using this at our next band practice to get ambient dB levels. Doesn't provide unnecessary/undesirable functions. A bare bones app that does exactly what it should, at a very tiny size, 1.43 MB if I recall

Great

it's good

very good audio tool with very little advertising.

Does what it says, no obnoxious ads. perfect.

It's easy to use and has a very clear display. It would be nice if it had some way of saving the readings, for example a screen shot capability. The developer notes that Android devices limit maximum values and that sounds over ~90dB may not be recognized, important to know.

Could use an option for auto-calibrating devices with a test tone or something so it's more consistent from device to device. A calibration tool for a Bluetooth mic would be awesome as well. It would get 5 stars if it had those 2 things, but it would deserve 6 if it had environment settings and LPF/HPF that could focus the measurement on a specific range of frequencies .

SO FAR I like this sound meter, however I have to run it next to my Amprobe SM-20(ANALOG) and my Fluke-945 (DIGITAL) to check its authenticity as relevant to reliability! In regards to ADS in the app, any ad is disruptive but these are really not in anyones way, but yes there are ads! What I REALLY DON'T LIKE in this tool is icons that lead me into other apps (compass, vibration meter) that I REALLY DON'T want added in my sound meter app!! BUT, I do like having this sound meter tool in my phone, that way as a professional audio engineer and drummer I always have a sound meter with me!!!😁

Analog, digital, and graphic displays all together, very usable. Instructions in broken English, a little hard to parse. Notes meter accuracy dependent on the phone like. Does not suggest how bad, and no suggestions for calibration. If cap is important, need suggestions for non-professional users.

It seems to me, this app is a very good reference for approximate sound levels. It seems to be accurarate, relatively speaking, and the user interface is user friendly. Update June 28, 2022. App now has an ad, featuring a flashing 'notification' icon in top center of screen. Distracting and annoying enough to downgrade review from 4 stars to 2 stars.

While its decibel measurements are quite accurate, I'm not happy with the fact that it turns the microphone on even when not in use. I have tried to change the settings but the problem persists. Something the developer should look at.

I have to check the accuracy

very useful
