Update: The latest Android update broke it again. It only allows a max two button presses at a time now. I used to be able to hold a button to bring up a wheel menu in game, then use the joystick to select an option, then press a different button to use it. It's really fun and great for turn based games or to just log in and collect daily game stuff. One big problem is since the new android os came out, I can only use one joystick at a time. Hopefully you guys patch this quick. (This came back)

Technically it works fine on my Pixel 3, but there's no good way to access the touchpad controls when using a Dual Shock 4. Touching the touchpad brings up the on-screen controls on the phone. Touching the phone's screen kind of works if you double-tap, but it still brings up the on-screen controls. Basically, give us a way to turn off the on-screen controls when using a paired controller and it'll be a great system.

It does what it's supposed to do. Although you need to give players a way to rearange the buttons instead of locking the buttons in place, some people don't want to strech their pointer finger four inches to shoot an enemy. And I can garantee you that if you were to find a way to make this mobile so we could use our playstations from miles away, this app would be praised. Other than that? It's solid. I can turn to it if my controller dies and that's what I want.

This app actually worked pretty well on my Pixel 3XL. Had no problems syncing and signing in. The problem I had was it made my phone get VERY hot, and that's not good. You can sync a PS4 controller to your phone through Bluetooth. A lot of people don't know this. It's really easy. But, I found that the touchpad didn't work. It would show up on my screen but didn't do anything when I pressed it. For simple games it may be ok for you but I uninstalled it because of the heat issue.

If you have a good internet connection then it is good for when you need to be in a different room, but don't want to haul your PS4 elsewhere. Long distances aren't too great, but I've yet to fully test it. Another issue is that you can't use any video apps while using the app(YouTube, Netflix, etc.). 1st person games are also nearly unplayable due to framerate, but most 3rd person games look, and feel fine. Other than that everything else works pretty well.

First off, I would just like to say THANK YOU for officially opening up this app to all users, even if it is a bit late. The amount of hoops I used to have to jump through just to use this app was ridiculous. However, now that I can use the app, I have a couple suggestions. First off, the lack of DS4 support pre-Android 10 is a little sad, considering the only alternate is touch controls, which also have problems. Mainly, the controls fade offscreen way too fast and there's no way to change it.

It works when I'm using it on my own internet. But then it becomes unusable outside of my home. The service is too picky what type of connection speed it needs to even just see the menu. And the fact that I can't use DualShock 4 on any of my devices is just baffling. It can be used fine on other games and apps, but not this one specifically. It needs Android 10 to be able to use it, but nobody has Android 10 aside from Pixel users. Really poorly made and makes me want to play the Switch instead.

Why would anyone want to use this without a controller. You cut out like 90% of the Android market by not allowing it. If I plug it in to my phone via USB, a pop up shows up in the app, saying "You can't use the dualshock 4 because it's not compatible with your phone." Um, then how did my phone and your software know I connected it. I also use the controller with my phone to remote play PC games all the time. I have a Razer Phone 2 on Pie (9), seems it is compatible. Sony just wants to limit.

4 stars for now. The new update as of today eastern time 6am allows you to use Android 5.0 and up. So far it's solid. It's exactly what you'd expect performance wise. It's still a cool feature and convinient to get. There's a little lag with moving between menu screens sometimes. It's not a constant thing and it's not too noticeable unless you look for it. Controller functioning is solid, once again everything you'd expect on a phone. This is my update, worth the download, yet to be seen any bugs

This honestly exceeded my expectations, however I do have a few complaints. I tested this with three games: Under Night in Birth, inFAMOUS First Light, and Spyro: Reignited Trilogy. The first two were where most of my complaints came from. Because Under Night in Birth is a fighting game, I wanted to try my fight stick with it and found out that remote play offers no third party controller support, even if the controllers work with the PS4 directly. That is something I feel really needs to change, because the controllers work with the actual PS4, but not a remote version of the PS4. The game ran fairly smooth and to be honest, I wouldn't use it for a serious match in a fighting game anyway, but that still doesn't excuse the lack of third party controllers. Second I tried inFAMOUS First Light, and it ran super well, but I ran into the second major issue: no six-axis, and for games like inFAMOUS that require the use of it at points, it makes those sections impossible, I understand it would cause a huge strain on the data being transferred, but a way to turn it on or off for when a game requires it would be great. The last game I tested was Spyro: Reignited Trilogy, and wow... the game almost seemed like it ran better on my phone than on the actual console (even though it didn't and I know why), remote play runs at 30fps locked, which is perfectly fine for streaming, and since Spyro runs at an unlocked framerate, it seemed choppy at points, but ran perfectly smooth on my phone. Granted the testing I did was in the same room as my PS4 and my PS4 has a wired connection, but color my extremely impressed with the results of just that. I do hope that those features I mentioned at fixed, and the ability to play on mobile data would be good, but in my testing it ran super smoothly with only a couple frames of lag. If I were to use it away from my router the results would change, but from the bit of testing I've done, I'm impressed so far. I will continue to test this app and update this accordingly, right now I've only used it near my router with a wired connection, but this certainly works far better than the Steam Link app under the same conditions, and I would love to see this improve in the future.
