OsmAnd is an application for Android OS that allows you to navigate any area without using the Internet, find the desired objects: restaurants, cafes, hospitals, hotels, gas stations and others. Users can plan a route for walking, driving or cycling.

Program functions

The application contains maps of the area with marked objects that the traveler will need. You can take notes on the map in the form of text or photographs. Additional maps of the area can be downloaded from the Internet for further offline use.

A convenient navigator will allow you not to go astray - important points and direction of movement are shown on the route. The map can be displayed in relief - so the user can see all the contour lines and the height of objects on the map: mountains, hills, hills, depressions. There is a function of recording trips for further viewing the route or planning another route.

Many objects on the map can be viewed in 3D by rotating the image or moving along a virtual road. The radius ruler tool allows you to measure the distance to an object, there is also a compass.

On first launch, the application will try to locate the user and offer to download a map of this area. After downloading, this map with all streets and other objects will be available.

In the upper left corner of the map there are buttons for map settings and search. At the bottom of the map there are buttons for the main menu, a tool for building a route, determining your location, changing the size of the map. When you click on any object on the map, a window with information about it will appear below.

In the map settings, you can make changes for the profiles of the car, bike, pedestrian and bus profiles, these profiles are related to their routes. There is also a general profile. In the settings you can installShow the following elements:

Other functions

In the main menu, you can view custom markers and places marked on the carriage manually, use the search, build a route, download additional maps, open country guides, create a route, open the program settings.

When creating a route, the user indicates the type of route (car, bicycle, walking or public transport), sets the points of departure and destination. Additionally, you can add home and work. After clicking the Start button, the program will compose a route in accordance with the settings.

Additional plugins

The application allows you to use plugins that extend the capabilities of the application: trip recording, nautical charts, ski maps, audio and video notes, the user's car park, OSM editing, street photos, accessibility and other plugins.
