Used for Chinese. I LOVE the video library. Super helpful for listening skills practice. The review system, though? NOT great. Too many questions that are vague enough to have three or four grammatically acceptable answers, but only one of these is the 'right' answer. I should be able to go through and remove vocab and sentence cards manually, and add notes: eg; to the 着急 card, "not 担心,担忧,忧虑”

Très bon! Je l'aime! For real. The beginner is a bit monotonous just as with anything starting out. Once you get past the beginner stage it's much more fun and rewarding. The intermediate videos are really informative (language) and interesting (content: popular movies dubbed in target language; also other native content videos and audio) FluentU does all the leg work. All you have to do is be consistent.

I know enough spanish to communicate for my job but using this program has helped me connect many missing pieces with my understanding in conversation. I have used other language courses and being that i am a visual learner, this is the best one so far! The playback options on videos are really useful so you can listen and repeat as many times as it takes to get it. Quizzes are great for review and are not too redundant or boring. Highly recommend!

I'm really enjoying this method. Watching segments with subtitles and being able to connect the written word to the spoken word is very helpful. Listening to native speakers also just feels more natural as a way to internalize grammar than the vocabulary drilling that other apps use. I have noticed some app bugs, however, like sometimes the subtitles won't line up precisely with what's spoken, and sometimes the voice that reads quiz prompts says the wrong thing. Still, overall very pleased.

This app is effective, but overpriced and glitchy. $30 a month is crazy for any app, let alone a glitchy one. Sometimes it will say an unrelated sentence unrelated to the one you ate translating. The questions and answers just don't match up all the time. The thing that I do like is that it makes you review things you've already learned as time goes by to reinforce what you've learned.

It's ok, sometimes the question does not match the answers provided and then I get them marked wrong. So my score is lower when it was actually a glitch in the program. I translate things regularly for others and my self so it not a learner error. Also, I feel like it's impossible to use any coins. Not sure what they are for and I have to earn a huge amount... The app is easy to use but it's a bit lacking.

This app is great if you want to learn from watching authentic speech from Chinese pop culture. Probably more fun than some of the standard apps. The only problem is that this is much less structured than competitive apps. Also, the could do more to improve the quality of the software, like offline downloads, review, or smoothness.

This was the most fun I ever had learning a language! I had no problems installing it and quickly picked up how to learn thru songs, movie clips, speaking back to questions, and generally feeling at ease. I also have it on my laptop. The Help Center is very responsive so just ask if you have a question. It's fun; it works; what's not to love?!

Would definitely recommend. I love learning with videos. It gives definitions of words and phrases, uses them in example sentences with short videos, and let's u practice spelling individual words and using them in sentences. Great for building sentences and learning everyday expressions that u wouldn't learn in school. If u already know something, u can skip within a lesson to something u would rather practice. Checkpoints within lessons and short videos are time-friendly. Please try!
