How to install Amethyst
- Download APK file apps from apkshki.com.
- Locate the downloaded file. You can find it in the system tray or in the 'Download' folder using any file manager.
- If the file downloaded in .bin extension (WebView bug on Android 11), rename it to .apk using any file manager or try downloading the file with another browser like Chrome.
- Start the installation. Click on the downloaded file to start the installation
- Allow installation from unknown sources. If you are installing for the first time Amethyst not from Google Play, go to your device's security settings and allow installation from unknown sources.
- Bypass Google Play protection. If Google Play protection blocks installation of the file, tap 'More Info' → 'Install anyway' → 'OK' to continue..
- Complete the installation: Follow the installer's instructions to complete the installation process.
How to update Amethyst
- Download the new version apps from apkshki.com.
- Locate the downloaded file and click on it to start the installation.
- Install over the old version. There is no need to uninstall the previous version.
- Avoid signature conflicts. If the previous version was not downloaded from apkshki.com, the message 'Application not installed' may appear. In this case uninstall the old version and install the new one.
- Restart annex Amethyst after the update.

Best client, even better than the iOS clients.
It's not crashing as much anymore so I changed my rating to reflect that. It's a really good app to use for nostr.
RTL is fix in new update?
I like the ideas behind nostr but the app is quite unstable. It crashes when I want to access my profile.
Crashes a lot when loading a user's feed but lots of potential. Nice Tor integration. Nice interface. Could use a feature walk through. I couldn't find a manual, so for a new user onboarding experience, it'll be rough. It does seem to crash quite a lot when loading a user's feed. Not sure if the app windows/limits what it first pulls in, then load on demand, or it tries to load everything. Seems the latter. I have a S23 Ultra with 12/512gb and it would force close. Everything else great.

Incredible. Reminds me of the OG internet when the smartphone was invented, but just 1000x fast feauture implementation
The APP is good looking and easy to undertand Just a tip for New versions: when changing something, please, put a notification sign or orange circle showing to where the old feature went off hahahahah The old version had a Bottom Button to select Global feed, but this new one Global is on the top, in a ComboBox, I took few minutes to find it out 😅
Spending more time on Nostr by way of Amethyst and less time on other social media platforms
Nice, so far one of the most user-friendly ways of being introduced to nostr. Zaps (tipping with Bitcoin to posts) work really great!
