I have been using Winamp forever. I could not find a good free mp3 player that was not caked full of ads. Then I tried MediaMonkey. It just rocks 🤘. Plays all my music, no pop-ups.

The player works well. worjs find with android auto. The issue was with the metadata. I used exact audio copy to rip my cds. After the metadata looked fine when checked with a metadata editor. i copied the mp3 files to the sd card in my phone. however, media monkey, during syncing, corrupted the metadata when extended characters were used. For example, IT'S would end up as IT@+S. this meant fixing a number of files metadata using media monkey editor.

Crash-prone. Syncs play counts with MM for PC, which I care about. Overall worth using for me. Room for improvement.

This is the nearest thing I've found to Google Play, and it doesn't randomly delete my music on a whim like YouTube Music did! Simple to use and most album artwork is automatically found. It reads my SD card so I know I can add music that way. EDIT July 2023 - app has started glitching and crashing every time I use it. Came here to look for an update but it looks like it's the update which has caused the problem. Looking for a new app now but it's a huge hassle starting over with a new app.

Regrettably, the application in question falls short of excellence. Its prolonged scanning process, failure to acknowledge pre-existing album art within music folders, and overall sluggish performance present formidable shortcomings. One must question the allure of utilizing such an application when compared to the likes of Foobar Mobile, a completely cost-free alternative that excels in every aspect, notably boasting remarkable speed and efficiency.

They massacred the app. Can't move to the next/previous song from inside the app. Can't do it from the widget either. Have to close the app, choose another song and click on play button. Stupid update. How did it made to production?

The app fails about every 8 months & the only install instructions I can find are horribly out of date. I have been dealing with this for several years now & I see no reason to continue putting up with this. Surely you must have the info put together for your own people. I have used & paid for MediaMonkey on my phone (including Pro) & Windows. I am ready to shove it into the black byte hole & look for something else.
