Reviews 1.1.1.1 + WARP: Safer Internet on Google play

My experience with 1.1.1.1 WARP is that it's a straight-forward secure DNS changer that does what it says on the tin smoothly and without any glitches. My personal preference for such an app would include a bit more (such as an app firewall), but in terms of doing what it was made for, this is a fiver.

For those finding it becomes very slow or won't connect to some choices, go into the apps settings and change how you've set it up to the other option available - I did so and now it's running smooth and fast, and no longer preventing me from selecting anything and not working. It works great now! OTHER THAN creating this app & it's speed/encryption, one of the best things about it is no ads. Ads make apps hokey. Uncaring towards users. I won't use them nor will I pay to end ads. If you don't care for me to make me see ads, I'm already done with you.

Really wanted this to work, but it just didn't live up to expectations. Spotify doesn't work at all on data with this on. WARP seemed to slow things down more than speed anything up. DNS queries for some applications/websites literally take forever. It will just sit and spin trying to make a connection. Sometimes it did work flawlessly. But its not worth keeping until it works better so I don't have to keep turning it off when I really need to get something done.

This app worked well for me when WARP was first added. I like the idea of enhanced privacy. However, over the past month it has been completely unreliable. With WARP active my data connection hangs, apps won't work properly, pages won't load. It's almost completely useless. The only way to use my phone reliably if to disable WARP and just use 1.1.1.1 DNS but I can do that without the app.

The jury is still out on this one for me..... I like it!? I love it!? But I just had to factory reset because of it. After I turned the VPN feature on, I lost all capabilities to call out. Inbound calls worked, as well as texting and data. No clue what happened, and neither did T-Mobile..... Bummer! I really like it on my computers!! THAT I highly recommend! I can't put my name to this one tho..... I gave it 2 because some of it works AWESOME!!

I love the simplicity of this… just tap a switch and you're running through their DNS servers instead of your carrier's. Unfortunately, I noticed a pretty big slowdown in overall data speed when this is running, almost as bad as running a real, full blown VPN. I use CloudFlare's 1.1.1.1 service on my home network and it doesn't slow anything down, so no idea why that happens on the phone over LTE.

This app is usually pretty good! I use it as my main VPN connection and it works great on wifi EXCEPT when my phone switches over to data. If I forget to turn it off when I leave my house I have no service and get no text message or snaps. If there were some option to have it turn off automatically that would be awesome, but right now I'm having to manually switch it on and off any time I do and don't want to use it!

Uninstalled. I was excited about the concept. Does not work on Verizon with MMS or secure mail. It makes internet browsing slow. Not sure if its my phone s10+ or what. I emailed support and i got a standard reply back. Everytime the phone reboots, i have to make sure the app is not enabled as traffic slows down. I eneded up uninstalling. Will give it another try when newer versions come out.

A lot of the time that the app is enabled I have trouble consuming content on wi-fi. On Sprint cellular data no issue. I also have this app on my iPhone and I don't have the same issues on either wi-fi or cellular. It's only when I'm connected to Wi-Fi so it might be a Comcast thing but like I said above, on the iPhone I don't have trouble with either.

Bought the WARP+ version and it caused problems from the beginning. It clashed with my streaming music services over Bluetooth, and exhibited frequent internet lockups and "not connected to the internet" error messages, even when I have full Wi-Fi and mobile network access, that necessitate a reboot. Even switching it back to non-WARP mode didn't fix things entirely. I uninstalled it and cancelled my subscription. I'll keep my eyes open to see if the app gets better, and I may try it again.
